Synopsis
Thailand is a celebrated destination for its temples, exotic landscapes and beaches, but less well-known for its jungle fish and exhilarating local fishing. How many people have heard of the Pla Shado, the Jungle Perch Fish or the Giant Mekong Catfish? Jean-François, a Frenchman based in Bangkok, leads a group of passionate, international fishermen through the country’s remotest jungles. Khao Laem Lake on the Burmese border is home to such fearsome predators as the Pla Shado and their cousins the Pla Chon, known for their lightning attacks and incredible resistance. At Bung Samlan, our fishermen will take on the Giant Mekong Catfish. The biggest catch weighs 34 kilos, engaging the fisherman in a gruelling 45 minute combat. This spectacular, exotic fishing expedition in the lakes and rivers of the Kingdom of Siam holds more than one surprise.
