Synopsis
This documentary highlights the work of animal sculptor Pierre Bassompiere. After long remaining on the margins of the art world, the artist nearly gave up: his works seemed destined to stay confined to his studio. Ten years later, supported by his children and those around him, his work has gained international recognition. The film follows this resurgence and notably accompanies the installation of a monumental gorilla in New York, facing the Empire State Building. This piece becomes the symbol of the artist’s renewal and his vision: to celebrate the fragile beauty of living beings through sculpture.
