Synopsis
A new opera house is being built in the heart of St. Petersburg "The Mariinsky" which must be finished in time for the White Nights Festival in June 2013. It is the vision of Valery Gergiev, Russia's extraordinary maestro, and will be realized by renowned architects including Jack Diamond of Toronto and Xavier Fabre of Paris. At the heart of this complex is the Mariinsky II Opera, the first new opera house to be built in Russia since the fall of the Czars.
