Synopsis

Nicaragua, 1979. The Sandinista Revolution drove the Somoza family out of power and instilled great hope to the Nicaraguan people who have been oppressed for 50 years by dictatorship. A decade after its triumph, Nicaragua a saw civil war and found themselves in a heated showdown with President Reagan and the United States. What happened to this revolution? Was the pluralist movement corrupted by international interference or by internal contradictions? 30 years later, eight of its key players deliver a retrospective analysis of their departure from the revolution while opposing their former revolutionary leader Daniel Ortega, who came into power in 2006.
