Synopsis
The relationship with the real is the subject of our film. Constructed in reverse chronological order as a puzzle, it explores how China became what it is through the work of the four best known Chinese filmmakers, Wang Bing, Jia Zhangke, Wang Xiaoshuai and Zhang Yuan who have achieved something their predecessors never dared: to show the pesent and past truths of their country in a cinematographic style which is uniquely theirs.
